Andrea Wilson is a survivor. Originally from Mexico City, and working out of her home in
Houston, Texas, USA, Andrea is completely self-taught. She began using watercolors as a
coping mechanism as she worked through the effects of numerous childhood traumas and an abusive prior marriage.
Now working primarily in acrylics, she sets out to inject positivity, healing, and sincere feeling and emotion into every piece she lovingly and intentionally creates. She knows that healing comes from confronting challenging feelings, memories, or thoughts, and coming to terms with them. This healing process leads much of her work and produces the stunning final products. She has been heavily influenced by abstract impressionism, most clearly demonstrated by her first series of paintings titled “Elements”. Andrea’s palette often evokes joy and passion characteristic of her light and vibrant Mexican heritage.
Away from art, Andrea is a dog mom, pozole ambassador, and yoga fiend, and makes time to explore the world with her husband.
