My work is about transporting energy to the canvas and getting fully immersed in wherever that energy takes me: dark or light. I approach all my art with a raw and uninhibited way, which gives me the freedom to engage a childlike curiosity for paint and colour.
I am currently a Sociology undergraduate at the University of Leicester and paint most of my pieces in both my student home in Leicester and family home in West Sussex. I work primarily with acrylics and mixed media on canvas. Most of my work is in response to the documentaries or psychology thrillers I watch while painting. I am inspired by the freedom of Jackson Pollock’s sporadic paint splashes, Gerhard Richter’s complex layers of paint, and Jean-Michel Basquiat's chaotic take on society and history.
