Candice Alise is an artist, curator, music manager, and multi-disciplinary creative. She was born in 1987 in East St. Louis where her father still resides. She moved to Chicago with her mother and brother early on in her childhood. She started painting at age five and has been painting ever since. Candice attended Mt. Assisi Academy, a college preparatory school in Lemont Illinois. After high school she moved out to Los Angeles to pursue film and art. In 2005, Candice Alise was voted top visual artist by Raw Natural Born Artist Company. In 2012, Candice was accepted to attend Webster University in Vienna Austria where she earned her degree in Media Communications. She founded Art After Dark, her own events curation company, during her time overseas.. She started this company to throw live events that incorporated multiple mediums of art, including visual artists and traditional painters. Candice always wanted to have her own works shown in galleries; after many rejections, she decided to combine the live music atmosphere with art, essentially being able to show her works and those of others in a temporary gallery for one night. This is how the name Art After Dark was born. After 5 years of many shows and successes; she eventually moved back to Chicag to continue her Art After Dark ventures. Until COVID-19, Art After Dark was doing quite well, but until live events can return to normal, Candice is once again taking up the mantle of the paint brush, and she has never been happier at the chance to sell her work.
