Born in 1995 in Preston, Lancashire, Charlie Robb is known for his vibrant abstract expressionist paintings that distort and challenge perceptions of color and space. After graduating from Cambridge University, he moved to London where he now lives and works. Through accomplished draughtsmanship, Robb interplays layers of saturated color to portray hidden depth, provoking our imagination and creating an exciting and endlessly fascinating experience for the viewer. His work exudes atmosphere and tension, encapsulated through an experimental lens of color caught in a balance between light and dark, finding dynamic harmony between these disparate elements. Robb draws his inspiration from the colors of the cosmos, skies, and seas- worlds not yet fully explored, that lay dormant with mystery.
