Carrie MeeRan is a Korean-American visual artist and adoptee from Seattle. She draws and paints with acrylic, charcoal & pastel. She embraces intuition, emotion, and thought in the creative process. Carrie started spontaneously drawing after a traumatic life event when she was 19 years old. She started showing in 2000 in a gallery in Pioneer Square, where she had 3 solo shows and group shows. She won an award of national merit for one of her early drawings. An enthusiast for exploration and culture she traveled extensively in Europe and Asia. Carrie is a classically trained pianist and published poet. She taught English in Seoul, S. Korea before getting her master’s degree in teaching. She is a wife and devoted mom of two beautiful children. Carrie hopes others enjoy or derive meaning from her art. She feels happy and blessed to continue forward on this artistic journey.
