CANADA

Dee Bailey completed fine art and biology studies in Alberta, Canada, then moved to the Yukon in 2010. Dee’s strong love of nature, wildlife and the outdoors are often the subject matter of her art. She creates to reconnect people with nature through art.
Interested in fusing painting and sculpture, Dee has been developing techniques for sculptural painting with oil-based modelling clay since 2013. She aims to refresh landscape and wildlife painting genres while adding in a twist of the fantastical.
Dee attended an art residency in Vallauris, France in 2015 at a clay facility. She was selected to participate in the Canada C3 voyage in 2017 as an artist aboard a research ice breaker vessel travelling Canada’s coastlines. Dee attended a two-month artist residency in Iceland during 2018 to research people’s connections to nature. During July 2019 Dee was the artist in residence in Yukon’s Tombstone Territorial Park. Her art is available online and held in private collections internationally.
