Dorothy Hanna is an Irish born artist with a BA (Hons) from Belfast College of Art. After many years working and living in London, she moved to Cornwall in 2003 and now lives between the desolate beauty of the moors and the wild crags of the North Atlantic coast. She has had numerous solo and mixed shows in London and elsewhere in the UK and as far afield as Vienna. She has also had work selected for The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and other international open exhibitions and was a prize winner at the 2018 National Original Print Exhibition in London.
Always a painter, she began exploring printmaking around 2010 and it quickly became central to her artistic practice. She most often creates unique monotypes, building layers on each work as it develops, with a play between control and spontaneity. She also creates intricate, small edition collagraph.
