Douglas Teiger grew up in Northern New Jersey attending Cornell University School of Architecture received a BArch and a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. He moved to Los Angeles in 1984 and began his art career with an exhibit of architectural renderings at the Urban Center of New York City.
His current work is large abstract oil paintings where he paints with a sense of joy and serenity. His images come forward through meditation and inspiration. He co-creates with spirit transferring the energy through the paint to the canvas. The dance has begun and what you see before you is a result of that relationship.
Douglas currently shows at the TAG Gallery in Los Angeles and has his art studio at the Hawthorne Arts Complex in Hawthorne California.
I start each painting session with a meditation asking for Spirit’s assistance to co-create a heartfelt expression of love. I might meditate on a spiritual quote being open to the vision that comes forward or I might just ask for Spirit’s assistance. Once I begin, I am lost in the process, lost in time, flowing with Spirit. I end each painting session with a moment of gratitude acknowledging that “This is what flowed through me today.”
