I am having the best time painting; expressing fleeting emotions and profound feelings as I connect to nature and my imagination. My favourite mediums currently are acrylic, oil, watercolour and pastels. I seek to explore colour and form in an unrestricted and exuberant way. My works have sometimes combined with my new explorations in music composing. For my next project, I am inspired to try a canvas on a bigger scale and in mixed media – I invite commissions.
I present a selection of my favourite works; thirteen new and older works in oils and acrylics as my first offering to market through Hansford and Sons Fine Art Ltd with grateful thanks to Lauren from Hansford and Sons and my family for supporting my creativity.
The first “British Countryside Collection” of five oils were all inspired by photographs that I have taken in my local area of Berkshire and when en route to take our lease car to be repaired that required a journey on a motorway and of course a detour to dog walk and photograph the lovely scenery of Woburn Abbey deer park and in the same trip, a view across the beautiful English Chiltern countryside from the Ashridge Estate in 2016. I hate to part with these bucolic scenes in their oak frames and white mounts with cord fixtures ready to hang. These are a unique slice of life in the pleasant British countryside.
Another five, my “Jazz Collection” were painted in 2017 and are whimsical, playful abstract acrylic swirls on stretched canvas and would suit a jazz lover’s home. These have picture wire and are ready to hang.
More recently, in February 2020 I have painted from my imagination a set of three
contemporary oils on wooden board; two of which I have set to songs. This “Blue
Collection” have lovely titles: “Azure skies”, “Teal Waters” and “Stormy Seas” and are
presented in archive boxes. They will require a string or cord fixture of buyer’s choice.
