Franziska Raffaël lives and works in Berlin. After an early fascination for classical perspective drawing with pencil, charcoal, ink and oil, she found her artistic home in abstract painting. As an autodidact, she prefers to use acrylic paint on canvas, applied in layers to give her works depth and structure. Forms and colours blur into individual works or find themselves in series. She draws the inspiration for her works from her surroundings, everyday impressions that move her, and emotions that drive her. Franziska laughs inexplicably and much too loudly at shallow jokes, likes to drink a good white wine and on grey days she dreams of the South of France or Madeira.
