Hannah is a British portrait artist based in Leicestershire, whose work explores the psychological experiences of being human, describing unspoken thoughts and emotions. She works in acrylic and mixed media on linen with desaturated colours, sometimes scraping into the paint with knives to create form and texture, sometimes working the canvas with rags, rubber combs, and dry brushes. The end result is sensitive and disquieting, sittingsomewhere near to - but not fully -realistic in style.
She took an art foundation course at Loughborough University, went on to study woven textile design, and graduated from Winchester School of Art in 2005. After leaving university she drifted away from art, but it was following her second child a few years later that she began drawing and painting again, and rediscovered her passion and driving desire to make art.
