Julio César Osorio came to the UK at the age of thirteen and grew up during the 1980s in London being influenced by the artistic atmosphere of the time. The 1980s were an era of developing global capitalism, political upheaval, global mass media, wealth discrepancies and unique music and fashion, characterised by hip hop and electronic pop music. This had a strong impact on the generation of artists growing up during this era. He graduated with a BA (Hons) In Photography and Digital Imaging in 2000 and it wasn’t until the camera was taken away after landing in prison after an altercation with a club bouncer that he had to find a different outlet for his creativity that he began to paint in 2012.
