Juwan Thomas, known to some as Wani, is a multidisciplinary artists who mainly works in painting and photography. He was born in 1996. When painting he prefers abstraction over figuration because of the freedom it allows. Thomas has been painting consistently for 6 months and is self taught. He hopes that his work invokes a visceral, emotional response, which is why he likes to use different textures in his art. Thomas works as a recording engineer in Baltimore, Maryland and sees this as an extension of his art. In his short career he has been featured in an online archive at the Mehari Sequar Gallery in Washington DC, where he was born. The main
objective of Thomas’ work is to create a dialogue and inspire others to express themselves.
