He dedicates part of his time in practicing, understanding and studying painting techniques. Oily pastel chalk, graphite pencil and acrylic paint are tools explored in his works. It is at the stage of working with different materials to understand how each one behaves. Despite this, Leo finishes his arts by creating well-defined lines and blots, and sometimes in a rough way.
For Leo, practice is essential, and in those 2 years he dedicated himself exclusively to seeing the exercise of painting as the "main role". The act of painting and its transformation into the blank canvas becomes the most pleasant moment of the process, the final result being only a consequence.
He is enchanted by several artistic movements: Baroque, contemporary art, impressionism and even abstract art exists in his works. His references are the painters known to many: "when you start to notice a little more in the paintings of the main artists of history, you realize the richness of details and their genius. Trying to copy them is an exercise, an important, honest and respectful act".
He admires the paintings by Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Miró, Monet, Rachel Ruysch, Rubens, among others, which he had the privilege of seeing in works of museums in Brazil and Europe.
Leonardo holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from FAAP (Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado) and as a Designer from EPA (Escola Panamericana de Arte). For 6 years he performed his training activity, going through diagramming, packaging and logo development. For 3 years he was part of the team in charge of global consumer brand projects, in an important agency in the capital of São Paulo, where he was born.
After years away from his gift, he returned to art in 2018, in Sorocaba, producing in his own home.
Participated in the exhibition Coletivo Permanente in Campinas-SP curated by Lívia Doblas and participated by several emerging artists in 2019.
The 2020 portfolio is a selection of these 2 years of production, with original, unique arts. Many of them directly on paper or canvas without frames, in excellent condition. In the portfolio we digitally include the frames for better visualization of the art and suggestion. The measures and techniques are specified on each page, as well as the size of the art.

Thank you very much for taking the time to get to know me!
