There is little else more inspirational than a long-maned Lion, or the beauty and power of the Bengal Tiger. Or the late afternoon, a hazy distance of the Great Karoo, where the sun sets in great tones of blue, ochre and gold, echoing civilizations of bygone days.
I was born in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, where I developed an interest in drawing and painting from an early age, essentially since I could walk and talk. First and foremost, my art has been driven by transcendence. To express creatively is a fundamental part of being human, and it is for me, existential. It is my life’s work.
Whilst I have been influenced throughout my life by the original and great natural artists, who have all been my teachers, and with whom ( some ) I have exhibited alongside, the planet Earth and all its natural brilliance have been my true inspiration. I have chosen not to pursue a great number of exhibitions, rather focusing on the quality of my work.
I paint in oils, acrylics, and pastels, though have focused on acrylics over the last decade. I sell my work on a private basis to selected customers around the world.
I derive massive and continuing motivation from deep love of my art, and the Earth, and understand completely that the more I paint the better I can always be.
I live in KwaZulu Natal in South Africa
