A love of Art, painting, and creating has been very important from a young age. Working as an Art teacher for 16 years has enabled me to share and develop my skills and interests with young people. The pandemic lockdown has given me an opportunity to revisit ideas and work explored previously.
My work lives between the recognizable and abstract. Each composition, color, line, shape and architectural reference, develop and change organically and is integral in my work. A range of techniques and mixed media add multiple intertwining layers, creating a sense of depth. The quasi-cityscapes reference the familiarity of commonplace cities, the monolithic structures of a Fritz Lang Metropolis, and the integral use of line, paint application, and mark-making.
