The bold and delicate contrast of this piece had me experiencing yet another internal revelation. I wanted to depict movement through the background brushstrokes to create a feeling of calmness in motion. Playing with space through placement of different solid shapes allows to integrate abstraction in a new way.
Through painting this piece, I found my method integrates abstraction and perfection through the mindful concept of letting go. In order to create the crisp bold shapes over top of the wispy background, I practice Breathwork - trusting myself in the moment to perfectly execute each motion. It’s an interesting mental concept to learn to achieve perfection through letting go, allowing for the seamless convergence of all elements involved.
