Tom Echlin, North Wales artists, currently studying at Glyndwr University 2018 – present.
From a young age, I have always loved to produce art, from drawing to scratch-built models. It was only recently in life when I found my footing in the art scene, creating works based on apocalyptic scenes and disaster. I have been attempting to convey this message through the use of distorted media and raw textures. Some of my research comes in a physical form. Using miniature modeling can set the scene for the observer to immerse himself or herself in.
With my current pieces, I have been making them almost Disintegrate. Artists like Alex Merritt, Francis Bacon and John Martin gave me much inspiration along the way. From their work, I have found my own way of expressing these topics within my work.
