Victor is an abstract artist based in London. Having had no formal education or training in art, Victor is a true raw talent with a unique way of expressing emotion through the abstract. Bold colors, layering, texturing and the recycling of old materials are all defining features of his work. Victor embraces “wabi-sabi” - the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection and transience - which gives his work a worn, timeless appeal.
As a teenager, Victor was always looking for opportunities to be creative, draw and use his imagination. Having grown up between Barcelona and Granada, his work is inspired by Arabic architecture, the beauty of aging civilizations and the ways in which nature transforms and ripens our surroundings.
Experimentation and improvisation are key drivers of Victor’s work, with each painting being a reflection of what he feels at that moment. Each piece possesses some kind of intricate detail hidden within it that is never immediately obvious upon first glance. The closer you look, the more in touch with his artwork you will feel.
