I was born and raised in a small town in Northern California. I was a very artistic child, spending hours on my own imagining and drawing. The adults in my life were amazed at my deep interest, talent and dedication to art. In college, I followed my fascination with people from all across the globe and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
I fell out of practice with illustrating and colouring for many years after childhood and favoured photography, until recently. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been filling my time with more and more art. I have started painting for the first time ever, with watercolours and acrylics, and it has enriched my life enormously. I am still developing my craft, but for now I am inspired by memories of beautiful places I’ve visited, culture, women from history, and dogs. I really love dogs, and I contributed to the “Portraits for Pets” fundraiser for the Humane Society.
